Everyone wonders how successful people became successful.

I promise you it’s more than just luck. People who are successful work hard and continue to work hard even after they are successful. The path for success is different for everyone, but amongst those paths there are common attributes.

The best way to become successful is to follow the common behaviors that other successful people follow. If you do average activities you in turn will live an average life. If you work everyday and copy what successful people do, you are creating success.

Follow These 9 Habits and See the Success Manifest in Your Life.

1.Successful People Wake up Early:

My whole life I made the excuse that I can’t wake up early. I’m not a morning person. The thought of waking up at 5 am used to make me cringe in horror. Well, turns out waking up early has its benefits. You are up before most of the world, which means you have a head start in your day. Waking up early allows you to get more work done with less distractions! When you wake up early you are literally giving yourself more time in the day which mean more time to be productive.

2.Stay Fit and Exercise:

have you ever noticed when you take a break from working out it’s really hard to start again, but when you exercise daily you feel great?

Working out not only gives you more energy, but your self confidence will increase as well. This is also a great and healthy way to get rid of any built up stress in your day. There was a study by Gallup where they were able to identify that rich people are more likely to work out then poor people. 

Keeping in shape isn’t just important for your physical state, but also very important for your mental state.

3.Have a Healthy Diet:

Having a healthy diet is the most important habit I partake in. For me, having a well rounded diet makes me feel better, and increases my energy. Eating healthy will literally make you healthy. A good diet decreases your risk of chronic diseases like diabetes. You will also notice your self-confidence will sky rocket! Eating right helps control weight gain and can increase your lifespan.

4. Start Each Day With a Plan:

Having a plan to your day not only keeps you focused but helps you get more accomplished. One way to do this is by creating a checklist of things you want to get done every day. Successful people value their time and make other people value their time as well. They are almost never late and have set end times for meetings and events. When you are coming up with your plan, make sure to finish your important tasks first.

5. Continually Educate Themselves and Read:

Did you know that the average CEO reads 4-5 books a month? Make sure when you read that you take the principles you learned and apply them to your life. Reading will also help fuel your creativity. Keep in mind the more topics you read about the more topics you learn about.

6. Go To Sleep and Reflect:

According to the National Sleep Foundation people who get 7 hours of sleep are more productive. Getting adequate sleep will also help you wake up early.  which in this article is the number one habit you should start to do. Reflecting on your day is just as important as getting sleep. When you’re reflecting you will have the chance to decompress and learn from any mistakes and successes that happened that day.

7. Be Persistent:

Did you know most successful people are not successful right away? For many, it takes years of practice and persistence to get where you want to go. 

If you give up on your 1st or even 10th idea because it didn’t work you will never be successful.

Michael Jordan sums it up the best:

“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed”.

8.Build Their Network:

 Have you ever heard the saying that success breeds more success? If you surround yourself with successful people their habits and drives will rub off on you.  

Make sure to surround yourself with people who celebrate others success, have a drive for excellence, and are overall good people.

Your daily interactions have an impact on your mindset even if you don’t realize it. Your network is something you should continually work on and build. There is a good strategy to networking too and you should really read up on it before falling for any of the common networking mistakes.

9. Listening Skills are key

Listening skills are some of the most important communication skills you can develop. Have you noticed that most successful people are great talkers, well this is because they are also great listeners.  

No matter the good or bad habits you have, always strive for self improvement. Successful people might have more positive traits than the average individual. Don’t forget you can work on adding positive habits to your life right now.
